Lucy Lawless sentenced over oil protest
Nearly a season after their display took place onboard an oil discovery deliver at Slot Taranaki, acting professional Hannah Lawless and seven other Greenpeace demonstrators will learn their phrase.
The team invested 77 hours up a 53m-high structure they scaly onboard the Royal Discoverer at the main harbour in Feb last season. The activity protested against Shell's discovery for oil in the Arctic.
Lawless, along with Raoni Sort, Scott Buchanan, Shayne Comino, Viv Hadlow, Shai Naides, Zach Penman and Ilai Amir, will be sentenced in New Plymouth Region Assess these days.
In July last season the eight each confessed a cost of being illicitly on a deliver. But sentencing has been late because more information was required after cops asked for $700,000 in reparation from the activists.
The demonstrators were originally billed with robbery, but asked for forgiveness accountable when the smaller cost was set.
No indictment was joined when they asked for forgiveness accountable, providing the sentencing judge the choice of discharging the eight without indictment when they appear problem.
Lawless, best-known for her tasks in the tv sequence Xena: Soldier Queen and Spartacus, says the display persuaded many people to back up the strategy to quit the exploration.
