Carly Rae Jepsen Viewed 2012 Grammys With A 'Critical Eye' - From Home
Returning in Feb 2012, Bieber Bieber published a little movie to YouTube that presented him and his popular close friends Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale, Big Time Hurry and more goofing off to a appealing new song: Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." Exactly a season later, that then-unknown track is up for Music of the Year at Sunday's Grammys.
Jepsen's little-song-that-could came out on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 10, just several weeks after Bieber's home made movie went popular. From there, it clip tributes didn't stop: Groups from Stanford, Fight it out, UConn, Syracuse and Southeast Methodist School all had their own movie editions of the song, as did the 2012 U.S. Olympic diving group, Katy Perry and Wayne Franco.
All the really like included to the song's achievements and its ubiquity, and it's been a flutter for the Canada newbie. On reflection, she knows exactly where she was last Feb, when she considered the Grammys from her sofa instead of from within L.A.'s Basics Middle.
"Around now last season for Grammys, I was viewing with a very crucial eye, very judgmentally determining who used the best factor and who provided the most uncomfortable conversation," she informed MTV Information with a grin. "And now I'm lamenting all of my verdict, because absolutely that will be me, regardless of what happens."
So how will the Grammy first-timer prevent getting on the worst-dressed record or getting a leak on her (hopeful) way up to the level to gather some hardware? Well, fingertips surpassed.
"I'm expecting that I can choose the right factor [to wear] and not fall short when I stroll down the red rug," she said. "Either way, [I'll] just appreciate myself, because it is a desire come real to be there."
