Trent Richardson beginnings for Browns; Scott Fujita does not play
Running back Trent Richardson commenced the Cleveland Browns' regular-season opener Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles
Team sources supported the rookie running back would start before the game.
Richardson said Wednesday he felt ready to play in Week 1 after his full week of exercise since undergoing a scope on his left knee on Aug. 9.
Linebacker Scott Fujita did not play after having his previous 3 game suspension overturned Friday by an appeals panel. Team sources had told the linebacker was unlikely to play Sunday.
Fujita had been suspended for his alleged participation in the New Orleans Saints' "bounty" program.
The Browns announced Fujita would not play vs. the Eagles and would stay on the exempt list.
The 10 year pro suffered a lower left leg injury in the Browns' preseason opener against the Detroit Lions and missed the ensuing 3 games. He did not practice with the Browns the past week as part of the terms of his pause.
