U.S. women football team claim gold against Japan in London 2012
The U.S. women's football team has its revenge against Japan.
Led by Carli Lloyd's two goals and Hope Solo's strong play in goal, the Americans won by 2-1, Thursday in a rematch of the Women's World Cup final. Japan won that day, but Team USA avoided a repeat at the end of London 2012 football competition.
Solo was much sharper in net than the character running around in today's Google Doodle game.
