Let Your Team Discover Their Strength by Leadership Coaching

I can never get enough of self-development studies, believe it or not, I practically breathe it. I will do all I can to learn new techniques and strategies about personal development. However, I noticed that most individuals make a mistake in this area when they focus most of the time on their weaknesses. As a result, they spend all their hours trying to shore up those weaknesses rather that maximizing the strengths they have. In the same way that totally focusing on one's weaknesses is a mistake, it is also a mistake to entirely focus on the other. The blunder, nonetheless is that there are life coaches or even leadership coaches who spend their time telling their clients what's wrong with them. As a consequence, they cannot will influence and win people, to say the least. In fact, most people avoid them.

If you want to win people, you need to focus and make them aware of their strengths. People usually have strengths that they seldom use. Those strengths may be personality characteristics, job skills, communication skills, general abilities, knowledge and other abilities. I once read an interesting truth based on studies, saying that every person can do at least one thing better than ten thousand other people. Now, relate this fact to you! You have an ability that cannot be matched by anyone in your neighborhood, town or city... or in your school, college or university... or in your department, company, or industry. This truth alone is enough to give you confidence that you can do so much more, that you can achieve more than you expect.

Now ask yourself this, have you discovered your unique ability? If yes, then you are pursuing your life's purpose! If you haven't, wouldn't it be wonderful when you meet someone that would point it out to you? Just imagine how grateful you would be to that person.

Today, why not try to become that kind of person to someone else's life? When you do, you just might be helping others to discover what God has intended them to do. When you do this, it will not only make you great leader but a wonderful blessing to others. Being a blessing to others means you are not only making a difference in people's lives, but you are doing your God-given purpose.

When you go out and lead, take time to let someone know their strengths and how special they are. Make people discover their elegant courage.
