Chad Johnson has had a reasonably crude summer all in all, and now the once great wide receiver can’t even get love from Madden 2013.

The erstwhile Chad Ochocinco started off the summer by becoming married to Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada in early July, but the marriage lasted only a few weeks before Johnson was charged of domestic battery.

The Associated Press reported that the incident commenced when Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms, leading to a dispute during which Chad Johnson is said to have head butted his wife.

Then, in the wake of the incident, he was cut by the Miami Dolphins, and the commonly behind closed doors find was then broadcast to the world as part of HBO’s reality show Hard Knocks.

So after such a turbulent summer, Chad Johnson was likely happy to buy his new copy of Madden 2013 and pop it into his gaming console of choice. After all, Hard Knocks spectators came to know that Chad Johnson is an active gamer and like millions of Americans were looking forward to the annual August relinquish of the newest Madden installment.

If only affairs were that easy.

As the Yahoo! Sports Minute noted, Chad Johnson found to his dismay that he is no longer an active player on the game. He employed Twitter to express his sadness, also showing that after a difficult year he still has a bit of the humor that he’s known for.
