On Display Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth Friday will tour a new display centered around the wedding dress Kate wore as she married Prince William this past spring, and we’ve got the photos just in case you can’t drop by Buckingham Palace this weekend.

The satin-gazer wedding dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen will be showcased on a plinth in the Ballroom, along with the Cartier Halo tiara Kate wore on loan from the Queen.

The royal artifacts are already drawing plenty of fans to the palace, which reported a 107-percent surge in tour sales compared to 2010, thanks to the young couple's popularity.

Caroline de Guitaut, the curator of the eloquent layout, said it's the little things that count when it comes to the world famous garment.

"Visitors will see what a great example of British couture it is and how much detail and how much work went into the creation of this dress," de Guitaut said. "The beauty really is in the detail."

More memorabilia from the memorable day is also on display, including Kate's wedding dress, shoes, earrings and head piece; and the royal wedding cake (with the first cut in it made by the bride and groom).

As previously reported, Will and Kate, who met while attending Scotland's St. Andrew's University back in 2001, wed April 29 at Westminster Abbey, as an estimated worldwide audience of 2 billion people watched.
